Installing IBM WebSphere Message Broker 7 (WMB 7)

This article is one of several articles on installing and configuring WMB7, the WMB Toolkit, DB2, and WMQ 7 and also the WMB Explorer plugin for WebSphere MQ explorer.

    http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/ws/wmb/

    decompress 7.0.0-WS-MB-WINX64-FP0002-TRIAL.zip

    run setup.exe

Read and accept the license agreement, then click Next

Click next then choose custom then click next to begin the installation. This will allow you to set the location of where WMB 7 will be installed.

    I have chosen:d:\MQSI\7.0

I do this because I wil then have a shorter path when administering WMB from the command line. I also do not like installing in the default Program Files folder as it starts to get confusing for 32 bit and 64 bit locations ie C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files vs. C:\Program Files (x86) also the fact that Windows paths like C:\Program Files have a space and make it harder to navigate in the command line.

You now need to configure Message Broker as required.

We do not need to run the command console yet, as we need to decide on how we are going to configure WMB ie naming schema etc,

    Click Next and then Finish.
